Lords of Skateboard

I had went to watch Lords of Dogtown this afternoon. It is a fabulous movie. A true story inspired film. Alwa, Stacy, and Jay. The film revolved around the Z-Boys. Alwa, Stacy and Jay bring a revolution to skateboarding. They are exciting, wild, gung-ho. At the height of popularity, they had break out. For fame and famous. For a girl. But, they had reconciled their brotherhood. Great! It is a touching story.

Their live is like a story being created for a movie. Film is liken to one’s live. One’s live is liken to a film.

Singapore Service Staffs Get Thumb Down

Recently, there had been lots of articles on the Singapore service staffs. Loads of bad reviews are been reported. Are these service staffs really that dreadful? The Urban had two reporters going undercover as customer to unearth some of the unpleasant service staffs in some high-end boutiques. Yes, there are service staffs that are impolite, rude, horrible, etc. But are there the ugly customer behaviors as well? Yes, definitely. In terms of service, Singapore service staffs get thumbs down. But there are lots of great service staffs too.

A lot of Singaporean customer likes to abuse the ‘Customer Rights’ belief. Singaporean customer should think of the saying ‘To gain respect, you must give respect to the others first”.

Would Urban send two reporters undercover as service staffs for 3 months? I suppose they would have tons of experience with lots of horrible Singaporean customers after that.

Btw, waiter gets service tips. Doorman gets service tips. Porter gets service tips. Should retail service staff get service tips as well?? Heee..... ..

There are already articles on ugly Chinese tourist and Singapore bad service staff. How about an article on ugly Singaporean customer?

The Maker

Yesterday, while WZ and I are working in the shop. A Caucasian walked in and ask for a maker, to be written on T-shirt. He saw a maker on our pen pot, and ask politely to borrow it as his friend, a footballer, is going to have signature on a T-shirt. He promise to return the maker at half-past 7. Being an avid soccer fan, I ask sheepishly “Oh, may I know what is the name of that footballer?” heeee….. That guy say “Les Ferdinand”. My eye brighten up, instantly. Luckily, I had some London trip photos in the cabinet. So I quickly pick up the London Eye photo and hand over to the Caucasian guy, “Could you pls ask him to sign on this photo?” heee…….

A quarter to 8, that Caucasian had returened. And give back our maker and that signed photo by Les Ferdinand. Heeee……….

I didn’t really know I would ask someone for his signature. But yesterday, at the spur of moment, I ask for it. Maybe I simply love soccer. He is an ex-Newcastle, ex-England international. He is reputed for his heading power. His aerial threat is a thorn. Hee… .. How many times would we came across an England, France, Spain, Italy, Brazil….. blah blah blah… international??

Anyway, the whole experience is quite fun.

Murtabak Craving

This few days I am having a craving for murtabak. Haa... Not too long ago, I had ordered a mutton murtabak nearby my house. Frankly, it is not very tasty. But it is quite a big piece for a $3.00 value, and most importantly it is been sprinkled generously with mutton in every corners.Haa... it is a satisfying supper.

Today during my lunch break at my workplace, I had ordered a sardine murtabak. It turned up to be a small piece of murtabak. Osssh. How is it going to be filling? One of the smallest murtabak I had ever seen. Thought of buying a popiah-chinese spring roll wrap. But decided to dig into the murtabak 1st. Well, after finished off my small small murtabak, I am really still hungry. Hmmm... so I work around the food stalls, and I ordered a plate of char siew fan-roast pork rice.

Btw, nowadays the food in the food stalls had lost their flavor. They are rather so-so or disappointing. Sometime, the char kuey tiao doesn't taste like char kuey tiao. Hokkien mee doesn't taste like hokkien mee. Fried some kuey tiao in black sauce, they claim it is char kuey tiao. Fried some noodles with prawns and squids, they claim it is hokkien mee. Well, lets hope Singapore won't lost their food heritage and flavour. Credits to Mr Seetoh, in bringing out his passion of Singapore hawker food, in creating his Makan Sutra.

Great Band

As I continued to read the Guns N' Roses-The Band That Time Forgot, I wana know more about their songs. Their origin. Their thoughts. Reading the book while listening to their tracks is wonderful. They still hold the best albums. No doubts. Hope one day, they could unite and play together again.

They are the outcast in their school
They pool together their talents
Incredible talents
They play wonderful music
Lots of origin
Lots of thoughts
Lots of sticks too

After so many years
Their music still sound so out of this world
Still been absorbed into their melody
Can’t get enough of their tune
Fans will always miss them

Great individualistic
Salute the band

Km8??

Today GH and I went to Km8. It is our 1st trip to this joint. There isn't many beach-goer. Wonder why everytime this joint is on the papers, it seems to report it as an exciting hangout. It is a relaxing place, but not so much hype about it. Maybe becourse today is Wednesday. Well, there is a jaccuzi in front of the bar counter. GH and I wana have a dip in it. But it only allow couples or ladies only. I wonder why. Neither the crew could give a proble explanation. Although, the Km8 experience doesn't goes as happening as I thought, it is still a relaxing and comfortable place for sun-bathing.

Currently, I am reading an biography of Gn'R, Guns n' Roses-The Band That Time Forgot. It is pretty interesting. So far, I read about how the band get together to form Gn'R and the moments after their marvellous debut album, Appetite For Destruction. Axl is the main focus point in this book. Btw, Gn'R have cancelled their concert in Singapore on 3rd September. I am quite disappointed, thought of going to their concert.

Last week, I had brought a Addidas casual shoe. It had a fresh green leather with 3 famous stripe in red. My collegues say it look like Christmas. Haa.. yup, I then realise it.

G n' R

Last nite Community Shield was an exciting match. Although Chelsea had won 2-1, Arsenal still shows signs of hunger and danger for any team. Arsenal had attack throughout the match. Chelsea are really great and confidance in their defence. Well, Arsenal did not play with an out-out striker. They rely on their team players to score. I suppose at the moment, they are sticking to their total teamwork and commitments philosophy more than ever since their departure of ex-captain, lanky Patrick. Oh, Fabregas continue to shine! A rising star. Alexander seems promising too.

Guns n' Roses is coming to town on 3 Sept to hold a concert! I am excited over it, so do Adrian, an interesting friend of mine. But, they are without their original band members. No Slash. No Rose. Only Adler. If not I would definitely wana go for this rocking concert. Now, considering. I wonder would their new vocal able to hit the famous high sirens of Rose? Is the vocal going to play the piano for November Rain? Is the lead guitarist going to solo on the piano top for November Rain? Ooh. One still can't stop droopling over Sweet Child O'Mine, Civil Wars, Patience, Don't Cry, Paradise City, Live and Let Die, Knocking On Heaven's Door, Estranged.... .... ..

My PC Is Back

Hey! Today my pc is back! It had recovered from its illness. My poor pc, it had suffered so much. But now, it had reborn. Great.

I had just seen a Korean drama. In one part, it says that when one is preparing the food, she is thinking of the little smile of the eater. Unlike a person who practiced martial arts, who is thinking of harming his opponent. Her little thought is so endearing.

Interesting People

Today is another round of the Project Superstar. I don’t follow-up with who is the winner. It doesn’t interest me. But, I look forward to the judges’ comments, except the female judge-who is more comfortable on commenting the contester’s appearance. The rest of the judges give wise advise on their singing technique. It is great to see the judges’ suggestions, unlike the judges in the Singapore Idol. They give sound tips on how to improve. They pin out pointers. They guide the wannabe superstar.

Oh, today I read a article on Jeanette Ejlersen, the Her World's senior fashion and beauty editor. It is interesting that she say Singapore women are wearing too little and lots of them attribute it to the weather. They wear the same thing,it's like a uniform. It's like a contest for who can wear the smallest top and lowest hip-hugger jeans. I find it quite true.

Today, I had a catch-up with Roy. An interesting and earnest guy. We eaten some cheesecakes over coffee, tea and plain water. Great to see him again. We might have some porridge with Mdm Kuek next week. Another wonderful person. But i guess she gona ask me 'Do you have a girlfriend now?'. Haa...

Applaud Susan

Recent news headers of NKF CEO Mr Durai and SPH have created shock and dismay among the public. Mr Durai has become infamous overnight. Some may ask do Mr Infamous has a clear conscious? Why is Mr Infamous accepting the 10-12 months bonus – a monthly $25K paycheck? Why is Mr Infamous traveling in 1st class flight? Why is there a gold plated tap in Mr Infamous’ private office?

Nevertheless, some are surprise to know that NKF can sustain another 30 years of operation without further donations. Wow. Lots of other charities would envy.

Somehow, I am amused. Why is Mr Durai taking SPH – Susan Leong for defaming, to a court suit? Why do he want to sue over the article, when it is the truth? The hard facts are there.

Applaud Susan Long for raising an issue of legitimate public interest.

Fantastic Albums

Recently I had just got hold on the albums by Keane, Thirteen Senses and Eminem. These artistes are fantastic. Marvelous debut for Keane and Thirteen Senses.

I am surprise to know that guitar is not a main instrument in Keane’s music. Wow. A rock band without guitar but piano. This is new to me. Their music is really catchy. Every time I listen to their Hope And Fear, I seem to find another wonderful track. Somewhere Only We Know, Everybody’s Changing, Bedshaped, Bend And Break, …etc. But most of their tracks sound so similar to one another. Never mind, I still love it. I love the way Tom is singing. Keane’s music made you feel the urge to sing along. It is quite hard to resist, even if you do not know the lyrics. Irresistible. Ireland has produce another great musician.

The other modern rock band that interests me is Thirteen Senses. The Invitation album. Their music seems to have full of emotion. Bursting of inner voices. I can’t really describe. It seem that there are so much sentiments in their melody that had been waiting for so long to be set free. Warmth, love, sorrow, heartfelt, roller-coaster event, happy-ending, tragic-ending…. .. The vocal is ordinary. But the singer has put his soul in his singing. Maybe it is because a simple vocal with so much sensation that it feel like we can relate to his music. By the way, the graphic design on their album seems to compliment with their sound. The boys seems simple yet full of senses.

The gem of hip-hop. The prodigy of hip-hop. Welcome the great Eminem. His music is really addictive. Hip-hop music is full of rage. Fury. Anger. Outspoken. I admire his memory to remember the long, long, long, lyrics! How do he do that? I even have a problem following through his lyrics while listening to his zapping rapping. Haa… Anyway, Marshall could really write so much stuff! Marshall has made another brilliant collaboration with another artiste in Toy Soldiers, an 80’s song. It is unique to rap, while portion of the song is being sing out by another singer. Just like his earlier Thank You with Dido. Fans would definitely wait eagerly for his encore.

Oh, another wonderful thing is, I got The Invitation and Encore at only S$9.90 each at Gramophone! Great Deal!

War Of The Movies

Yesterday I had watched War Of The Worlds. Lots of critics had given positive rave about this Steven and Tom remake film. Haa…. I find it so-so. But I like the ending narrating part which say something like alien couldn’t live in human’s earth atmosphere– whereas human being had already lived through the years in planet earth, whereby, human already have a natural immune system to the environment but not the alien. It could be a sigh of relief for people who worried about possible martian attack. Hee….

Last week, I had watched Initial D. It is a great film for street-car manic and fan of Jay, Edison, Shawn, …. Anthony, Kenny, Jordan… It is a film that keep you sit up tight throughout the show. It is comical. It is exciting. Zoooommm! AC86. GTR. FC. I am looking forward for their possible 2nd sequel.

I would not mind watching Initial D again.

Here We Dance

It’s Saturday night again. Today is the 1st Saturday of July 2005. It’s another month of 2005. It’s another month in my life.

Saturday night music on 91.3FM WKRZ is supremacy. On this night, the station air pumping trance-techno music. The dance tracks are simply irresistible from one composition to another. Tune flow swiftly. Your heart and mind will immerse into another world. High pressure. Ecstasy. Rapture. Seventh heaven. :)

Angels & Demons

I had finally finish reading Dan Brown's Angels & Demons. Well, there are moments of thrills in this book. But at times, I find a bit bore somehow. But it is different with The Da Vinci Code! I find it pulse-pounding right from the very beginning in Da Vinci. And it is non-stop action till the end. Nevertheless, A&D is still great! Mr Brown has really gone through lots of research, time and effort. I admire his talent in writing.

Well, our dear Mr Brown had also indirectly create lots of revenue to the publishing, retailers, transport, paper, wood, etc industries!! Haa... btw, it is also quite fanscinating to think that writers could contribute so much to so many industries! I have even hear that some resturants are banking sales on pre-order Harry Potter Book!

I am listening to Noon now. Listening to her Close To You. It is really fabulous! Her other tracks, Moon River and I'll Never Fall In Love Again are absolutely absorbing too! Btw, this album is call Better Than Anything. I love the way she sing. Her voice. Her style. The pics in her album are great too.

Durian Durian

I just had durians an hour ago. Well, do I love durian? Eating the fruit by itself is just a so-so kinda food for me. But my tastebuds would love durian cakes! Durian puffs! It seems that durian smell and taste better when it had become the paste for the cake and puff. Heee... ..

Well, I had also just create the Links in my blog successfully a few minutes ago! Hurray!

Oh my gosh!! Liverpool had win Champion League Final!! It is fantastic! Unbelieveable! Greatness! Awesome! Madness!

Liverpool is a goal down within the 1st min. Paolo Maldini had given AC an extremely early goal-30sec. Well, I thought Liverpool still have another 90th min to win the match. AC score the 2nd goal around 34min! Ooh, it is gona be hard for the pools to win it then! Then came the killer, Crespo score the 44th min goal! It is AC 3-0 Liverpool! How earth is Liverpool gona snatch the Cup now?! A miracle is in need.

2nd half, Benitez change the formation. He introduce an attacking tactic. Around 56th min, a cross from Rinse meet with a Gerrand header! A goal from Liverpool! A goal from the captain. A glimpse of hope. Comes the 58th min, a pass from the subsitute Hamn to Smicer. A long and low shot. A 2nd goal from Liverpool! The crowd, the players, the staffs become more motivated. The marvelous 60th min. A short pass from Baros within the penalty box. In come the charging captain. He get knock down by the AC player. Aloson score from the penalty rebound! The whole stadium turn madness! It is dramatic! What a twist!

After the 3-3 scoreline after the golden goal. The penalty shoot out will decide the winner. A miss by AC! And 2 save by Dudek, who adopt a distracting strategy! A newly crown CHAMPION! The LIVERPOOL FC! They had create history. They will be history.

Post Match

Hey, so Liverpool got a draw,0-0 result, with Chelsea. Well, in a way it's quite a gd result but also a dangerous one. Especially against Chelsea, which had lots players who can score goals. It's gona be a double hurdle if the Blues get an away goal at Anfield.
