Beatles

Beatles.
Oh, the classic Beatles.

They are genius in music.
Arn't they?

So sad that they had break up.
Wonder if they had stay on, how many more classic songs would be heard.

Listening to Beatles now. Sometimes, I find their music rather simple. But catchy! Lots of time, I feel their music direct with lukewarm feeling. Lots of time, I feel like singing along! Sometimes, I feel quite sad listening to their tracks. Sometimes, I feel light hearted. Sometimes, I feel 70s.

Fantastic Chocolate Cake?

Lately I had eaten the Chocolate Cake from Bukit Timah. The so-called awfully wonderful chocolate cake in this island. Most of the orders are made under reservation list. The paper used to claim it to be one of the best in this tropical country. The chocolate cake had been baked years after years. Popular for years after years.

Of course I am very curious to taste this chocolate cake. I love chocolate. Irrestible.

Finally I got to taste it last weekend. Smell good. But after having the first bite, I wonder 'What's the hype about this chocolate cake?'. It is just a simple cake. It is not fantastic at all. It is just a simple and ordinary chocolate cake. I am not a food connoisseur. But I could taste what is a really great piece of chocolate cake.

Sometimes I wonder the standard of some food critic's review. This chocolate cake is a great example. I wonder how do this journalist grade this cake so highly? She may like to eat food. But she is not a savory food critic at all. She is just a food lover.

I would prefer to eat my Meiji Dark Chocolate, after all.

Haze Attack!! Take great care, Chirpy Birds!

Nowadays the haze is still very 'POWERFUL'.

They look misty. They look dreamy. They look romantic.
But beware! Looks can kill.

I ask our company PR chirpy bird should we send a memo to the shop chirpy birds to take good good care of their body, especially during the hazy period? I thought the memo may lighten up their chirpy mood. So that they will be DoubleChirpy. Well, at the same time, the company would also like to show concern for their chirpy health!!

This memo may sounds a bit weird to somebody, but we are xxxxxx! We work hard and we have funny fun.

Chirpy chirpy chirp chirp..

IRRITATING Mobile Phone User

This morning in the MRT, I heard someone playing some music from his mobile phone. Airing the music out from his handphone speaker! These type of IRRITATING behaviour had been occuring lately, AGAIN and AGAIN!!!

I wonder why would these inconsiderate user do this action? If you wana hear some nice music, you could always pluck in a earpiece and listen to it, enjoy in your own world. Unless you had lose your earpiece, or it had been damaged, or you left it at home, or you can't listen from earpiece from some health problem. Even if you really wana listen from the speaker, you could tune the volume lower. Why do you wana blare out the music?? Are you afraid no one know you like this song? Are you trying to hint everyone that you are cool (actually, you arn't)? Sometime I feel like pumping my TECHNO song from my handphone speaker against theirs! If I had a MP3 player and speaker in my Marimekko Ladybear Bag, I would pump out MY MUSIC against those irritating user. My super techno vs their pop song. My enchanting soprano vs their techno. My rock star vs their hip hop.

We don't need these type of people to tell us what are music. If we want good selection of music, we could go to HMV, Gramophone or THAT CD. The latter have excellent song selection airing from their superior BMB speaker, daily.

I am a great fan of theirs.

Striking Sensation

Liverpool had just won a 3-0 match against Spurs.

They display another control and attacking strategy. Up goes the tempo in the 2nd half. Gear up for a sudden fast and furious pace. They had attacks from the left and right flanks. Centre assaults. Low and high crosses.

Finally, a move by Captain Gerrard had Bellamy hitting the post from close range. But a follow-up by Gonzalez had earned the Chilean his 1st Anfield goal.

The 2nd goal is a stinger from Kuyt. A shot with power, accuracy and confidence. I believe there will be more similiar goals from the Dutch.

A counter-attack by the Reds result in another trademark shot by Riise. Another long, powerful and accurate shot.

Great team efforts. Great goals.

Alonso Goal !!

Few days ago, Liverpool had win 2-0 over the Toons. As usual, they had created numerous goal-scoring chances. But in this game, they managed to score. 2 goals. All connected to Xabi Alonso. The 1st goal was a diagonal defence splitting pass from Alonso which found Finnan laying on for Kuyt to score his 1st Anfield goal. The 2nd goal was a masterpiece. Alonso had lifted the ball from his own half. The ball shoot up high in the air and drop perfectly into the goal. No bouncing. Straight in.

Steve Irwin The Crocodile Hunter

I had always enjoy watching Steve Irwin's programmes. I could see that he was extremely passionate and had great knowledge with animals. It was amazing to see him getting so close up with dangerous crocodiles, snakes, etc, at times.

But, we could not see him record another programme anymore. He had been an unfortunate victim of a stingray. It's spine had pierced his heart while filming an underwater documentary on Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

The world had lost a Great TV host. An amazing animal lover.

Report On Bad Reporters?

Recently, Straits Times had featured an article on some popular nightspot with bad services. It had highlighted their poor service standards. Last year, there were also articles on umpleasant services, on some high-end retailers. I supposed these reporters may had reasoned that it were their duties to report the truth to the public. To unearth the dirt, bring it to the light.

I wonder would these reporters report on bad reporters?
Or are there no bad reporters?

National Day 2006

Elsewhere in the Middle East, Israel and Lebanon are engaging in battles. Fire had been raging for the past few weeks. More soldiers had been recalled. More tanks. More air planes. More rockets. More ammo. More, more and more heat to come. Every generations of Israel had experinced war. From father to son. Lets hope all will end as soon as possible.

Here we are in Singapore celebrating our 41st National Day in 2006. Today, early in the morning we could hear children from nearby schools singing our Singapore's nation-bonding songs.

Lets hope Singapore could continue our peaceful days.
Onwards Singapore.

Secret Garden

Listening to Secret Garden now.

Listen. Close your eye. Breathe slowly. Concentrate on the music. The violin. The piano. You are walking in a scented garden now. Sunshine, blooming flowers, greenery. So Peaceful.

Their music are rather slow moving. Rather sad.
It captures sweetness. Bittersweetness.
Suddenly the world seems to be revolved in a slow motion.
Lots of different feeling in their mesmerise tune.

Amazing.

They have lots of music that could be used in as film soundtrack.
Story of the princess and prince been reunited after a tragedy war-outbroke.
Story of the lovely gal with illness laying on the white-linen bed with her beloved by her side.
Story of sisterhood with their troubled mens.
Story of sad ending. Happy ending.

Holding hands together. Embrace. A better tomorrow.

World Cup Champion 2006 - Italy

Italy is the Champion! The Champion of World Cup 2006!

They deserve the Cup. They have the passion. Spirit. Gut. They fight for each other. They are a balance team with depth in their subsitutes' bench. They have a shrewd manager.

The Italian have only 2 goals conceded throughout the tournament. An own goal. And a penalty. Their defence marshalled by Cannovaro is superby.

France's mastero Zidane had stolen a historical lime light - he head-butts Italy's Materazzi. Zidane go straight onto Materazzi's chest. Materazzi fallen onto the pitch. Zidane is shown the red card. Nevertheless, Zidane is still the player of the century. No doubt. The days of Juventus' Zidane is awesome. The way he caress the ball. His effortless dribbling. He dummy the opponent. He turn the opponent inside out. He orchestrate the attack. His ability to control the game. His coolness. His first touch. His passing. His vision. No one seems to be able to steal the ball away from his feet. Only a few could touch the ball.

Champion Italy.

Golden Boot Zidane.
Lord Zidane.

Bravo German, Gutsy Italian

The World Cup 2006 Semi-Final between Germany-Italy is a great match. Germany playing attacking with caution play. Italy playing superb defence with quick counter attacks. Both are trying to win the game with different strategies, not depending on luck entirely. Unlike some team just hoping they could win the match, without attempting to put pressure and win it. England will know. Argentina will know. Both could play swift assaults. Both could be semi-finalist. One could be champion. But they didn't. Germany has lost, but walk away with honour. Nobody will fault them. Italy has win, and nobody will say they win by luck. Lippe give a stroke of genius during the extra-time, by pumping in attackers! It become an open play. Calculated risks are been taken.

Germans are bravo. Italians are gutsy. Both are worthy winner. But there could only be 1 winner.

There could be only 1.

May the force be with YOU.

The Road To Guantanamo

This afternoon I had caught a film called The Road To Guantanamo. It were about 3 young Pakistani, been mistaken as the Figthers of the Al Qaeda, been held up by the US, eventually been led to Guantanamo as their final destination. There were actually 4 young men going to a wedding together. But 1 of them had gone MIA when they are moving off in a rush. No one know what had happened to him, even till today. The film also capture some humour during their stay at Guantanamo. This film offers some glimpse of the US affairs with the Al Qaeda, and of course Guantanamo.

A coming-soon film called The Lake House, starring Keanu and Sandra, is a romantic movie. It seems like a film drawing inspiration from a Korean film, Il Marie. Both films are about a guy and lady getting to know each other through a letterbox. They received letters from the opposite party. They were living years apart, yet they could received the letters on their real-time. And they are actually staying at the same location. Btw, Somewhere Only We Know is the soundtrack of The Lake House.

Recently I had watched some MTVs. I were watching some of the yesteryears rockers. Steelheart. Saigon Kick. STP. Queen. Warrant. Ugly Kid Joe. 4 Non Blonde. Blind Melon. etc, etc, etc... ... Rockers had always amused me when they played rock ballads. Their ballads were always amazing. They were often singing with so much passion and emotion in it, that would put many boybands and pop singers to shame. Lots of rockers do play piano and sometimes other classical instruments are also featured in the song too as many would think rock music are just about guitar, bass and drum.

Champion of World Cup 2006?

My friend had just ask me that who would I think would win the World Cup 2006? I have no answer. I couldn't even shortlist 2-3 teams that have the potential to capture the Cup. Frankly, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, England and Italy are the teams that could lift the prestigious Cup.

Germany had home advantage and recent promising attacking play. Argentina swift attacks and compact play with match-winners Crespo, Saviola, Riquelme, Messi, Tevez. Brazil's crafty and fearfsome Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Adriano, Kaka and Robinho. England's figthing spirit and the usual heros - Beckham, Gerrand, Rooney and Lampard. Italy's meanest defence and win at-all-cost attitude.

Who could be 100% sure to predict the winner? Only some of the most die-hard fans would insist their team to WIN. Sport Correspondents would jump to HEADLINE Team A to win it after a promising game. The next day, follow by SCREAMING out Team B to win it too after playing a beautful game as well. Many are bandwagon jumpers. But they are some who give insightful view and analysis. Rob Hughes top the list.

Welcome Bellamy To Anfield

Craig Bellamy has compeleted seal his transfer to Liverpool! It is a great news to Anfield and Bellamy. I have always admire the way Bellamy play with the ball. He is a pacy striker. He takes on defender. He has a winning metality.

Liverpool has added armour in their strikeforce now. I am excited to see Bellamy play alongside Fowler, Gerrand, Kewell, Garcia and company.

An early strong run in the league would put the Pools challenging for the tittle. Up against the usual contenders, The Gunners, The Red Devils and The Blues.

Good Luck Bellamy. Good Luck Liverpool.

DC Shoe

Today, I had brought a pair of DC Shoe at a 20% discount. But after walking out of the shop and went to a nearby shopping mall, 2 pair of Nike retro shoe caught my eyes! OOh! I had to control myself as not to spree again. But sad to say, I had to say goodbye to my POA Green Shoe. It has been worn out and the 'jaws' had split open.

Up to date, 2006 World Cup had been exciting! We have witness again the progress of competion in Japan, Korea and Africa teams. Though the gap between them and Europe could still be seen, nevertheless, they had narrowed the gap.

Japan and Korea played with pace, spirit and energy. Africa teams played with gut, power and skill. Europe teams played with tactical awareness, instinct, wit, experince and skill. Top South America teams, Argentina and Brazil played with flair, trickery and beautiful game.

Which team would you prefer to watch?

Beckham and Gerrard Again!

England 2 Trinidad & Tobago 0. David Beckham had nearly become the hero again! His famous pinpoint cross, a layoff from Lennon, had been thumped in by Crouch past Hislop. But I suppose, Gerrard would steal the headlines again! His typical screamer outside the penalty box had smashed in the second goal for England.

Beckham, Beckham. David Beckham the Pinpoint King.
Gerrard, Gerrad. Steven Gerrad the Smasher!!

England had progressed to the 2nd round of World Cup 2006, with a game to spare. I suppose Owen and Rooney will be paired for the Sweden fitness game. Walcott could be in action for some part of the game. And Lennon could be a starter.

Open Sky Or Jurong Bird Park

This few days I feel like a bird with a pair of growing and bursting wings in a small wooden cage. Over the next few days, I have to choose between flying in an open sky or Jurong Bird Park.

It would be challenging to fly in a colourful and dangerous journey in the open sky. It would give me a chance to fly and visit different country and their city. Planting my feathers in their soil. Nevertheless, I could be a victim to the preys.

Jurong Bird Park would be a safe place to live in. There would be food and shelther for me. I could also entertain audience with my little trick in picking up the cards or riding a bicycle. Jurong Bird Park could also market and brand itself famously. I may also have the chance to participate in a world entourage.

If you were birdie, would you choose living in an open sky or Jurong Bird Park?

Keeper Lift The Cup Again!!!

Liverpool had ended 05/06 season with the FA Cup. Although the playing style of the game was not exicting, the scoreline was thrilling! Liverpool had come back from behind to draw 3-3 and push it into extra-time and penalty shoot-out again, almost identical to thier European truimph in 04/05. Gerrand and the new Keeper, Reiina, had become the heroes! Gerrand had set up the 1st goal and score 2 spectacular goals again! Reiina had save 3 penalty! Woww!!!

Fantastic.

Fairy Tale

Recently I had grown to love a mandrain song Tong Hua(Fairy Tale) by Guang Liang, a boyish looking singer. It is a simple yet touching love song. I had heard that the MTV is really wonderful that it may touch you to tears. I would really love to see it.

Many people have different loves in their life. Relationship, family, friendship. Music, fashion, arts. History, animal, books. Money, health, peace.

I love beautiful things. Beautiful music. Beautiful film. Beautiful soul. Beautiful sweetie of mine. Beautiful design. Classic European. Classic Chinese. Retro. Modern. Anything beautiful. Although I do not have an in-depth knowledge of them, I am just over-the-moon when I chance upon them. I had designed some graphic illustration. It is a kind of design that I just love to design.

I hope one day, I could produce my workpiece. Although there are not out-of-this-world design, I still love them. It would be my dream come true if they could be put together into a shop. I can't imagine how would I had felt then. It is like a fairy tale dream come true for a artist to photographer to hold their own gallery. A fashion designer to hold a catwalk parade in NY-Milan. A Grammy for a singer. An Oscar for an actor. But all these are not really nessecssary. It is just a recongnition. A true artist will be just as happy, when he had completed his satisfied workpiece. It may just be a fairy tale for the artist.

Is life a fairy tale?

1st In 2006

This is my 1st blog in 2006. My 1st blog from a laptop. My 1st blog from a wireless source. My 1st blog in Macdonald.

There will always be a 1st time in everything. There will always be a 1st position in everything.

This afternoon a well-mannered lady went into my shop. Her name is Debbie. She's looking for a gift for her 14yrs old daughter. It will be the last time Debbie seeing her. It gona be a long while, before they could meet up again. She had seperated from her husband.

Later, Debbie say that she likes the music in our shop. The sentimental music been played are from 70's-80's. The 1st track, It Might Be You, reminds her of her pre-U days. Her boyfriend use to sang this song to her. How sweet it is... .. I wonder is that boyfriend the same person whom raise her 14yrs old daughter. I dare not ask.
